June 12, 2009 Wisconsin Dells, WI

We are spoiled!!! We have seen so much of our beautiful country for free or minimum charge and then we got to The Dells and it is almost impossible to see anything without a steep entry fee or charge. We took a ride along the Wisconsin River, hoping to see the Bluffs in the Dells and were not able to see any of them. We did see a small snippet of the river with some boats available to take a tour. To see the dells, one must ride in a boat - they even have old military DUCKS that transport tourists on land and water to see the area. The only thing we were able to see was a dam that separates the Upper Dells from the Lower Dells. We are camped in a wooded campground with so many tall trees blocking the sky that it was difficult to know that the sun was out today. It was out and beautiful - clear and mid 70s. We extended our stay one day and now are planning on leaving Monday. We will use this weekend for relaxing and preventative maintenance around the Monty. We will sneak a peek into whatever we can find around here, though!
