June 4, 2009 Sioux Falls, SD

What a wonderful concept - a large city park in the center of a mid-sized city filled with waterfalls, large and small! That is just what Sioux Falls, SD has. A large, grassy park loaded with red boulders with the Big Sioux River running through it and what appears to be a thousand waterfalls. There are benches and huge flat topped boulders to picnic on. There is a tall observation tower looking out over the entire vista. Small shops. One of the rock formations in the center of the river looks like a river tug boat with a small falls just to the left of it in the photo. Up close and personal, the falls roar regally. The sun shines and reflects off smooth shades of red in the boulders throughout the river and along its banks. This is truly a gem in the center of this city!
